One bedroom with its own full bathroom in a 1,030 sq ft two bedroom apartment on the 32nd floor of Regents Park, 5035 S East End Ave.

You would be sharing the kitchen and living room with one roommate, a UChicago student who lives here full time. Quiet, clean, keeps to a normal schedule. He is around for the whole term, so you are joining an established place rather than coordinating a move-in with a stranger.

The apartment is furnished. The bedroom is unfurnished, has a walk in closet, and comes with its own bathroom, so you are not sharing one. Hardwood floors, central air and heat, dishwasher, south facing with real light.

Rent is $1300 a month, all in. That covers utilities and internet, so there is nothing to set up and no bills to split. One flat payment.

Building amenities: outdoor pool, fitness center, 24 hour front desk and concierge, resident lounge, rooftop garden, bike storage, package lockers, on site convenience store, dry cleaning, and laundry. Parking is available through the building.

Location is the real selling point for a winter term. You are a walk from the UChicago campus, close to Promontory Point and the lakefront, and a few minutes from 53rd Street and Harper Court for groceries, restaurants, and coffee. Metra and CTA are both nearby, so downtown is about 20 minutes without a car, which matters in January.

Available October 1 through late March, and I am flexible on the end date. This works well if you are here for winter quarter, arriving in January for a visiting appointment or exchange term, on a rotation or fellowship, or relocating to Chicago and want somewhere solid before committing to a full lease.

This is a proper sublet, not an informal handoff. Building management runs a standard application and background check, and we sign a written sublease, so you have real documentation and a legitimate place to live. Happy to walk you through the process.
